Aftab Khan

Aftab is Senior Vice President of Engineering for Eversource Energy.  He is responsible for Electric Transmission & Distribution System Planning, Capital Planning, Asset Management, Engineering & Design, Standards, Grid Modernization, Control Room Support, and Vegetation Management.  His responsibilities include leadership of innovative technology deployments to maintain Eversource’s industry leadership and ensure customer satisfaction.  He is responsible for the Planning Section of the All-Hazards Emergency Response Plan and member of the Executive Emergency Coordination Team.  He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Northeast Offshore Wind Joint Venture with Orsted.

Prior to joining Eversource, Aftab held various leadership roles with GE and ABB providing products, projects, and services to the electric utility industry.  These leadership roles included engineering, operations and general management roles for High Voltage Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Power Cables, EPC substations, Power Systems Consulting, and HVDC & FACTS solutions.

Aftab holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alaska – Fairbanks, a Master Degree in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a MBA degree from Carnegie Mellon University.  He has authored several technical publications and holds 5 U.S. patents.
