IEEE PES Mentorship Program

The IEEE Power & Energy Society is excited to share we will be launching a new mentoring program soon. 

The program will pair a mentee with a suitable mentor based on what they would want to learn from their mentor.

Mentor and mentee are expected to commit to the program for 6 months for an enhanced experience.

John McDonald, past PES President, has worked with many IEEE young professionals and students over the years through his mentoring. In this short video, he shares his perspective on mentoring, highlighting the following.

• Why should someone consider being a mentor?
• Why do young engineers and students need mentors along with his mentoring experience?
• How to prepare for a mentor-mentee relationship.
