Learning Types from IEEE PES

We offer the following learning opportunities for professional development and, where applicable, continuing education (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDHs).

Webinars

IEEE PES webinars are geared toward power and energy professionals, engineers, policymakers, researchers, and individuals interested in the power industry. Each webinar is 60 minutes in length including time for a Q&A session. Webinars may be stand-alone or part of formal multi-part series.  The option to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDHs) is available for noted webinars.

All live webinars are recorded and available on-demand in the IEEE PES Resource Center – free for active PES members, discounted for IEEE members, and available for purchase by non-members

Tutorials

IEEE PES tutorials are geared toward experienced power engineering professionals and offer in-depth knowledge on a wide array of trending engineering topics.  Tutorials generally consist of multi-part series, with each session approximately 80 minutes in length, 60 minutes for presentation, and 20 minutes for Q&A.

In-person tutorials are available at IEEE PES conferences for a fee and are either half-day or full-day presentations.   Upon successful completion of each tutorial series, attendees receive a certificate of completion.  The option to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDHs) is available for noted tutorials.

All live tutorials are recorded and available in the IEEE PES Resource Center on-demand –  free for PES members, discounted for IEEE members, and available for purchase by non-members.

Plain Talk About The Electric Power Industry

IEEE PES Plain Talks are education presentations designed to provide technical knowledge to power industry professionals without an engineering background. These sessions provide an overview of the power and energy industry’s technical aspects; offering insights into the demands of regulators, consumer groups, and trends that impact the power systems operations.

In-person Plain Talks are available at IEEE PES conferences for a fee. Upon successful completion of each session, attendees receive a certificate of completion. All live Plain Talks are recorded and available on-demand in the IEEE PES Resource Center – free for PES members, discounted for IEEE members, and available for purchase by non-members.
