
Piscataway, N.J. – IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, today announced that the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate the involvement of CSEE associates and leaders in IEEE PES activities to support PES membership and programs. This MOU was signed at the Inaugural 2026 IEEE PES International Meeting in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China during the Opening Reception on 19 January 2026.
CSEE and IEEE PES share a mutual commitment to advancing and disseminating engineering information in the field of electric power systems. Both organizations recognize the importance of establishing and strengthening their relationship and wish to foster closer cooperation, resulting in the development of a long-term, stable, and comprehensive collegial peer-to-peer relationship for their mutual benefit. To this end, both organizations agree to continuously enhance collaboration and cooperation across several key areas, including organizational development, standards formulation, academic exchanges, co-sponsored conferences, publications, memberships, and joint awards.
The MOU was officially signed into order by Tim Licitra, IEEE PES Executive Director, and Dr. Zhao Jianjun, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering. “IEEE PES is excited to continue our relationship with CSEE,” said Licitra. “Together we have an opportunity to increase collaboration to drive value for our respective members and the industry at large.”
The office of CSEE said, “The renewal of our Memorandum of Understanding with IEEE PES underscores CSEE’s unwavering dedication to forging robust international synergy and propelling technological breakthroughs across the global power industry. By joining forces, we will facilitate cross-border knowledge exchange, spearhead innovative research initiatives, and catalyze the global energy transition toward a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.”
CSEE will work together with IEEE PES to achieve the goals of improving, guiding, innovating, and promoting the development of technology and standards. CSEE and IEEE PES recognize the importance of establishing and strengthening their relationship, and both parties wish to foster closer cooperation, leading to the development of a long-term, peer-to-peer relationship for their mutual benefit.
