Piscataway, N.J., 3 February, 2026 – The PES Governing Board has nominated the following candidates for the 2027 IEEE Division VII Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect position. The candidates are listed in a pre-determined lottery order and indicate no preference.

Voting members of the IEEE Power & Energy Society shall elect a Delegate to the IEEE Assembly, designated as its Divisional Delegate, who shall also by virtue of such election be a Director, designated as its Divisional Director. Division Delegates/Directors are voting members of the IEEE Board of Directors and the IEEE Technical Activities Board.
The 2027 IEEE Division VII Director-Elect will serve on the 2027 PES Governing Board and will continue serving on the 2028 & 2029 PES Governing Board as the IEEE Division VII Director.
The candidates will have an opportunity to speak during the PES Members Meeting on Monday, 20 July at the PES General Meeting in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Their biographies and position statements will be included in the July/August edition of the IEEE Power & Energy Magazine and on the IEEE Election website.
All active PES members (Member, Senior Member and Fellow Grade), as of 31 March, will be eligible to vote. The IEEE Annual Election balloting will begin on 17 August 2026 and end at 12:00 noon ET (16:00 UTC-04) on 1 October 2026.
In accordance with IEEE Bylaw I-307 Nominations and Elections, individual voting members may propose, by petition, names to be added to the ballot for the offices that appear on the IEEE annual election ballot.
IEEE Election Campaign Policies
IEEE policies provide guidance for communications and presentations that involve election candidates and petitioners. All IEEE elections shall be conducted with the utmost integrity, shall adhere to the Election Code of Conduct and shall be paragons of fairness, accuracy, truthfulness, transparency, consistency, and collegiality.
Election campaign activities are activities intended to promote or inform IEEE members and voters about a candidate. In all elections:
- Equal opportunity shall be provided to all candidates nominated for the same elective position and nominated by petition. (IEEE Policies, Section 13.3.D.1.)
- Election campaign activities are defined as activities intended to promote or inform IEEE members and voters about a candidate. (IEEE Policies, Section 13.3.A.1.i.)
- Campaign messages are defined as communications that contain information advocating or discussing a candidate’s qualifications, positions on issues, or other information intended to make an impression on voters. (IEEE Policies, Section 13.3.A.1.i.)
IEEE Policies, Section 13.3 Elections and Electioneering provides guidance for:
- Event/conference organizers and editors on how election material is distributed (in person, via email, online, in publications, and in IEEE meetings/events)
- How presentations are to be made in IEEE meetings
- How statements for publication are to be sought and presented
- The editor, conference chair, or other individual responsible for the activity shall determine the information to be presented or published, within the guidelines established by the governing body of that organizational unit, provided all candidates are treated equally.
The sending and management of candidate messages and candidate publications are governed by the IEEE Policy on Mailing Lists and Rosters (IEEE Policies, Section 14 – IEEE Mailing Lists and Rosters). In all communication with potential voters, candidates, and their supporters should:
- Include provisions for opting out from future communications
- Include reminders about the need of recipients to adhere to IEEE policies, especially IEEE policy on Mailing Lists and Rosters (IEEE Policies, Section 14.1 – Use and Control of IEEE Mailing Lists)
- Avoid practices that would be interpreted by a reasonably prudent person as obtrusive or failing under the category of “spam”
- Include the following disclaimer:

Candidates may use their own personal social media channels, but they may not use any IEEE-associated social media channels. Election candidates and others involved in elections must follow the IEEE Election Code of Conduct and Electioneering Guidelines.
