Integrated planning is increasingly applied as a structured, value based approach to evaluate and prioritize utility investments across multiple objectives. Under conditions of growing uncertainty driven by electrification, distributed resources, and policy requirements, consistent and transparent methods are required to link long term planning assumptions with near term decision making.
This Tech Topic examines approaches for operationalizing integrated planning using value frameworks, portfolio optimization, and cross functional governance. Emphasis is placed on establishing repeatable, data driven processes that incorporate risk, cost, performance, and stakeholder considerations, enabling more consistent and defensible investment decisions and supporting effective implementation and tracking over time.
