How to Submit a Conference Paper

Below are the steps to submit papers to the noted IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Flagship conferences. For other PES conferences, please check each event website for directions as they will differ from the steps below.  All upcoming PES events can be found here.

  • Check The PES Author’s Kit
    To ensure your paper adheres to our guidelines, please check the PES Author’s Kit to ensure that your submission matches the PES template.
  • Create A MIRA Account
    Create an account in MIRA, our conference paper submission site. The applicable link will be available on the conference website. If you have already created an account, please use those login credentials.
  • Once in MIRA’s author screen, proceed with the following steps.
    1. Update your personal information, if necessary.
    2. Select the type of paper you’re submitting.
      1. Conference Papers – These are limited to 5 pages and must be original work not in review or published anywhere else.
      2. Accepted Transaction Paper (Abstract) – Transaction papers that have already been reviewed and accepted.  Please only upload the abstract for publication, but also upload the full document for the reviewing committee.
    3. Enter yourself as an author, provided you are an author on the paper and all other co-authors. Click Finished Entering Authors.
    4. Enter the paper’s title.
    5. Upload your source document.
    6. Select the primary committee for review. This is the committee your paper’s topic best aligns with.
    7. Enter secondary and tertiary committees, in case your paper needs to be reassigned for review.
    8. Enter the paper’s abstract and keywords. Click Save and Continue. 
    9. Read and accept the IEEE policies on plagiarism, page limits, original work, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Click Save and Continue.
    10.  Review the PDF of your submission. Once approved, click – Accept my submission and continue to the IEEE Copyright.
    11. Complete the online IEEE Copyright form and click Confirm.
    12. Click Done.
