IEEE Energy Sustainability Magazine

Part 6: IEEE Energy Sustainability Magazine

(Part 6 created September 2026)

This part of the Author’s Kit defines the scope of IEEE Energy Sustainability Magazine and provides author guidelines and submission information.

Scope

IEEE Energy Sustainability Magazine is dedicated to the dissemination of information and practices on all matters related to environmental sustainability and climate change, as they relate to electric power system operation and planning. The prevailing sustainability topics address the challenges of climate change by advocating for strategies that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This includes adopting energy-efficient technologies, promoting sustainable power generation resources, and supporting policies that limit carbon emissions. The prospective articles also address the sustainable transitioning from non-renewable energy sources (such as fossil fuels) to renewable sources (such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power) as a crucial aspect of environmental sustainability, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigates climate change.

Author Guidelines and Submission Information

Article Preparation

Articles should be prepared according to the following guidelines:

  • The article should be in single-column, double-spaced format.
  • All text components of the article should be included (e.g., body of the article, figure captions, tables, sidebars, if any, and brief author biographies as described below), with all graphics (figures, tables, etc.) shown in their desired location within the body of the article.
  • Reference lists are not allowed. However, a “For Further Reading” section of no more than 10 entries is required.
  • Footnotes are allowed for illustrations used with permission.
  • A one-line bio for each author should appear at the end of the article and should include the author’s name and affiliation.

Note: If any figures in the article have been used from other sources, it is the author’s responsibility to obtain written permission from the original source to reprint them.
