Presented by: Sergey Kynev, Siemens Energy
This webinar:
The E-STATCOM (Enhanced Static Synchronous Compensator) is introduced as a cutting-edge solution leveraging grid-forming (GFM) technology. We will explore its technology overview, control structure, and methods to measure its grid-forming capabilities. Rather than merely stating whether a device is GFM, we will quantify its benefits through metrics such as inertia and short circuit power. The webinar will also present comparative plots illustrating the performance differences between GFM and grid-following systems. By the end, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how E-STATCOM can significantly improve grid resilience and reliability, making it a pivotal component in modern power systems.
