Presenter bio:
Jill I. Gostin is an IEEE Senior Member and retired Principal Research Scientist from the Georgia Tech Research Institute. She was elected as the 2026 IEEE President-Elect and is scheduled to serve as IEEE President beginning in 2027.

Gostin built her career in sensor systems, software engineering, systems integration, and test engineering. During her time at GTRI, she led and managed large technical programs involving collaboration among academia, industry, and government organizations. Her research contributions include work on radar and sonar detection algorithms, software evaluation, and fractal geometry applications.

She has held numerous leadership roles within the IEEE, including:

2023 IEEE Vice President, Member and Geographic Activities (MGA)
Chair of the MGA Board
IEEE Region 3 Director (2020–2021)
Former Chair of the IEEE Atlanta Section
Board leadership roles in the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society

Her leadership priorities as IEEE President-Elect include:

Enhancing member experience and volunteer support
Expanding professional development opportunities
Encouraging multidisciplinary innovation and collaboration across technical fields

Gostin has also received several recognitions, including the 2016 Georgia Women in Technology Woman of the Year award and the 2025 IEEE Women in Technology & Leadership Award.
