Home / About PES / IEEE PES Awards & Scholarships / IEEE Power & Energy Society Scholarship Plus / PES Scholarship Supporter – The Hoveida Family Foundation

The Hoveida Family Foundation is encouraging engineers to focus on the power and energy industry, which is facing challenges such as making renewable energy sources cost effective and stepping into the shoes of retiring engineers. One way to address this challenge is to recognize new talent, and this scholarship celebrates the following individuals as promising engineers in the United States and in North America.
The Hoveida Scholar designation indicates that the funding for the scholarship comes from funding provided by the Hoveida Family Foundation. In 2025-26, 90 electrical engineering students from 55 schools identified as Hoveida Scholars. This brings the total number of scholarships funded by their contributions, since 2021, to 280.
Past Hoveida Scholars have gone on to work at power and energy companies like Burns & McDonnell, S&C Electric, and Black & Veatch.
