2023 Award Recipient: Sienna Shi

Sienna Shi is a Master’s student in Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University, supervised by Dr. Le Xie. She holds a B. Sc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oregon State University, obtained in 2021. Sienna’s research focuses on using machine learning techniques to model flexible load behaviors, such as residential demand response and large flexible loads. Alongside her studies, she works as an associate engineer at ERCOT in the resource forecasting and analysis team. Sienna interned with ERCOT in the Summer of 2022 and was awarded the ERCOT Joe Weatherly Scholarship in the same year. She also gained internship experience at RRC Power and Energy from March 2020 to June 2021 and Clean Water Services from June 2021 to December 2021.
