IEEE/PES 2010 T&D Conference and Exposition Latin America

The fifth edition of the IEEE / PES 2010 T & D Conference and Exposition Latin America, returned to Sao Paulo for another successful event.

Organized by IEEE South Brazil Section, and IEEE Power & Energy Society, it brought together over 820 participants from countries such as Brazil, USA, Canada, Germany, Colombia, Portugal, Switzerland, France, India, Iran, Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Chile, Venezuela, Russia, Korea and China.

Under the theme "Synergy to Promote Smart Solutions" the event was held in conjunction with traditional INDUSCON in its 9th edition, sponsored by Brazil and South Section Industry Applications Society.

The conference had approved 280 papers in the T & D and 241 in the INDUSCON indicating the strength promoted by the association.

The theme "Smart Grid" served as a link between the two conferences and allowed attendees to see and discuss the research, application, products, and solutions offered in the market.

Another factor that contributed to the success was the invaluable support of patrons such as utilities, industry, universities, and institutions funding research and development locally and internationally. Another subject that has generated great interest was the integration of regional power that featured a panel discussion.

The event was attended by the IEEE Division VI Director Enrique Tejera, PES President Alan Rotz, and PES Past President Wanda Reder who also took part in the extensive technical program as well in meetings with leaders in Brazil and Latin America.
